TORRANCE, Calif. -- Honda Motor Co., Japan's second-biggest carmaker, is scrapping the Acura CL coupe after a drop in sales and is pricing the new Acura TSX sport sedan below rival models from Toyota Motor Corp.'s Lexus and Bayerische Motoren Werke AG's BMW to boost the brand's average sales growth. The 2004 TSX went on sale Thursday for $26,490, Acura spokesman Matt Pearson said. The sports car costs at least $1,000 less than models Honda identified as its main competitors. CL coupe sales dropped 25 percent in March from the year before and posted a 35 percent decline in the first quarter.

Pics?

There was none. It was just a news item. The CL and TSX were existing models.

I personally think it was a mistake to go with a tiny 4 cylinder engine for the TSX. I mean, you get a 3.0 L 240HP V6 in the accord coupe for the same price or less! Yes you dont get 4 doors, but I have a feeling the interior space is similar..

Good move, the Accord coupe is a better car with more distintive lines and cheaper than the CL. Kind of wish they would put the 260 hp 3.2 in the 6-speed as an option, though.
