i have a 1994 honda accord. they got me last week for my aftermarket stereo..damn thieves!!!

Ive been looking on ebay for a 94-97 oem accord cd player. but theyre far and few.

will any Acura oem cd players fit? any other honda cd players work like ones for a civic or prelude. i can just extend my search to include those. im looking for a direct hook up and play using my stock wiring harness.
thanks

erick

i swapped a 2000 honda civic OEM unit and a 1998 accord OEM unit for the heck of it one day and it worked perfectly fine for me.

so im guessing just about any year and model will work fine.

the only thing extra i had to do was to enter in the key code again when it was powered up.

good luck.

The one's from the Integra will work. If you can find one from a Prelude it will work too, but it has the amber lights and the JDM freaks will charge more for them. They are harder to come by too.

so those are just plug and play?? the harness will fit any of those year cd players??

White92- got your message the other day..im still in mourning..it will be a tough year...

I'm 99.9% sure they are plug and play. Just make sure you get the radio code with whatever cd player you get. Let me talk to my buddy this afternoon to make sure it's plug and play. He will know. Plus he might even have a few stock Integra cd players laying around. I'll ask him if he has any for sale.

One thing you are going to have to be careful about is picking up a Honda deck that has line level outputs. They will plug right in but not have any power for the speakers. I had a CD deck from I think it was an Acura CL and tried to put it into my sister's Integra and it barely made the speakers play any sound. This was because the CL had built in amps just like our NSXs do.

I was going to suggest going to a cheap aftermarket deck but if the thieves stole a factory stereo, they are likely to go after a new deck, too. The Honda harnesses are cheap.

So you have to avoid the decks that were for systems with amps. 98+ Hondas/Acuras use different harnesses.

This page will help you understand what will work. Your car would use the 70-1720. The later model cars would use the 70-1721. Just click on the link to the 70-1720 harness and it will display what cars it can be used on. Those cars will have radios that will plug into your harness.

I would stay away from decks that are for the Acuras although I am using an Integra deck in my Civic. I think the CLs, RLs, and TLs all have amplified systems.

white92- thanks for the info and please get back to me and see what your boy says.

Malibu Rapper- goodlooking out with the info. i might just have to go aftermarket and make sure i take the face off. the accord gets no love at my house, he's outside while the NSX and the TL get the garage space.

Go on the prelude forums, alot of the owners are willing to sell theirs for cheap. Just post on the want to buy section and you'll end up with alot of offers.

I'm not sure if they did have amplifiers or not. I do know that I sold the one out of my 97 Prelude to a buddy who put it in his 95 Civic with no problems at all. Now that I think about it, he never paid in full for it.
