We have an '03 Accord Ex with a problem. Seems the entire display for the combined radio/CD/climate control has gone dead. Everything still works, but we are making changes "blind" as the entire display does not display anymore.
The dealer quoted us $750 to replace the part! And it is out of warranty due to milage. This must be a simple fix, probably similiar to the rebuilt Bose amps or the CC for the NSX.
Anybody have any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

Call American Honda Customer service to request good will repair. This is a common problem. A TSB has been out for 2 yrs for this problem.

What he said or you could just go to your local honda dealer and request that they repair it for you. My family has a 03 v-6 EX company car that had the same problem, with a tranny failure at 100k miles and honda replaced the tranny and head unit. We just had to pay for the labor which came out to about $800. All we had to do was politely ask that they good will it:biggrin:

I just had the problem on my 03 which was also out of warranty. A quick call to Honda America and everything was taken care of, including labor. Some people have paid for labor so ymmv. I think it was because my car was only 2 months out of warranty and I only had 32k on it, plus I mentioned all the Hondas I've owned.

If all else fails, try EBAY. I have seen the entire unit go for $250 - $300, or maybe even less. First try and get it taken care of by Honda though.

Good luck..
