Congratulations too, Wolfgang.
1.59 minutes are damn fast, man.

I did 2.04 minutes 2 weeks before at test drives with the racing CTR.

How fast your car runed at the end of the long straight before break point ?

Did you could shift into the 6th gear ?

Did the rear wing not fly away ? :)

Hope to see you soon (and the other european guys) at the track.

Thanks Detlef, I had a max of about 245 km/h at the end of the straight - just okay for the 5th (although I don't know the real speed because of the smaller diameter of my Yoko slicks so speedometer isn't correct).

The wonderful R-rear wing helped a lot at the fast right corner before Mercedes arena (flat out with about 200) and in the Suedkurve (about 145). My previous problem from last year (more downforce rear with the new wing, not enough downforce front) still exists but I contradicted it by increasing the mechanical grip at the front (sway bar one step softer).

That's not the ultimate solution because the car feels a bit too soft. My techies now work on a scooped hood solution that really uses the airflow through the water cooler to produce more downforce. If that works I will stiffen the sway bars.

BTW: Did you erase the CTR in your signature?

Wolfgang,
if I remember right, I couldnt go over 225 km/h at this straight with my NSX.

The main reasons for that were:
1. No slicks......slow corner speed before the straight, even the CTR was quicker.
2. This damn long 5 speed gearbox. I only could go into the 4th gear. I think that I'll need a 6 speed gearbox soon.

And 200 km/h at the right corner before Mercedes arena meens:
Lot of courage and trust in your car.... my highest respect.
I saw like a Ferrari Modena 360 with slicks did the same and crashed hard, because the car starts to oversteer left, right and
the Ferrari pasted at that hard left wall.

Suspension:
I know that KW suspensions will produce a new damper and spring kit for the 24h NSX-R race car with high end components.
Maybe you should ask for that too.
I'll inspect that suspension at next race and wait for drivers response.

CTR
I did erase the CTR in my signature, because I sold my rates for that car to my partner.
I'll concentrate all my energy for my projects and my NSX's.

Slicks
Could you recommend the Yokos as good slicks ?
I'm ogling with the Michelin's.

and:

please send me the rolling circumference of the rear Yoko tire.
I'll give you a diagram with all speed/rpm parameters at all gears.
The standard 6 speed gearbox setup I saved into my computer too.

If you wanna adjust your odometer for that setup, I can do that too.

The measure for my Yoko 230/610-17 is 1915 mm. I have no experience with other slick brands but I can recommend the Yokos because they are relatively predictable and usualy don't lose their grip all of a sudden. I drive them with 2.1 bar front and 2.3 rear hot pressure (1.5 and 1.7 cold).

When they begin to get squirmy and too hot you can help them to recover by slightly decreasing the pressure a bit (that's different with other brands, I know) or just do a cool lap and they have grip again.

You may look here for further info and prices. I prefer different softness grades front (S 01) and rear (E or S 04) that seems to be just right for my driving style and car setup.

Front tires are 210/580-16 which is 1798 mm.

I calculated that:
4th gear ratio: 1.125
5th gear ratio: 0.914
6th gear ratio: 0.717
final ratio: 4.062

at 4th gear:
KM/H RPM
176 7000
179 7100
181 7200
184 7300
186 7400
189 7500
191 7600
194 7700
196 7800
199 7900
201 8000

at 5th gear:
KM/H RPM
217 7000
220 7100
223 7200
226 7300
229 7400
232 7500
235 7600
238 7700
241 7800
244 7900
248 8000

at 6th gear:
KM/H RPM
276 7000
280 7100
284 7200
288 7300
292 7400
296 7500
300 7600
304 7700
308 7800
312 7900
316 8000

That should work for an odometer test
