Hmmm car turns but won't start!

This is the second time this happens. Temps are starting to rise here in socal. I parked my car out in the sun today and let it sit there for about 5 hours. When i wen't to start it, it didn't start. everything was working fine, but it seemed like the fuel pump was dead. after about 3 min the wind was blowing with the windows open and door. it cooled the cabin and the car started with no problem. When the cabin is hot the car doesn't start. any ideas what it could be.

Main relay, next time whack the bulkhead behind the pasenger seat and see what happens.

Agreed Main Relay. I think mine is starting to act up, so I ordered a new one just to be safe. It was like $70 bucks. A few years ago, it was $54 bucks. Funny how I remember these things.....and no, I'm not cheap! :tongue:

Hey Brian, I got a core laying in my toolbox right now. I'll be up at AoB either tomorrow or next week, I can leave it with the car.

well I wouldn't leave it alone, actually fix it but try the whole whacking the bulkhead next time trick to help diagnose.

I wonder if this is the same problem that i'm having. I just posted in the forced induction section. My car started to get it off of the roll back, but after sitting in the 95 degree sun for 4 or five hours, it wouln't start?

Install a new one or as noted above when it acts up give it a wack.

Where is it located? I have the rear bulkhead removed and can see the ECU and all of the relays.

They don't get better or fix themselves. Banging it may get you going for a while, but in my case there was no prior warning and banging on it did not help. I was left in an airport long-term a hundred miles from home.

Yikes.....exactly why I ordered one! I'm going to swap it out this weekend, just to be safe.

Oh, and $70 bucks was from a discount Acura parts dealer! :redface:
