How can you tell which of the three is failing: bulb, ignitor or ballast?
The left headlight installed by Downforce as part of an 02+ conversion back in 2010 is flickering and sometimes goes off completely. The DF invoice shows D2C 6000K bulb. Thanks.

I would swap the bulbs to see if it still does it on the right side. If it does, then it's the bulb. If the right bulb (that you put on the left side) flickers, then it's likely the ballast (or igniter). Sorry I can't be of more help on whether it's the ignitor or ballast.

Another item to check is hopefully the installer put an inline fuse to protect your ballasts. I have had the fuse loosen over time and work its way slowly out of socket causing on/off of bumps etc.

Thank you both for your advice. I was able to contact Peter at Downforce and he has explained how to troubleshoot the most practical and economical way. I will attempt it this weekend.
