Anybody have a picture showing the light emitted from a 6000K HID kit? Im trying to get an idea of the color and brightness.

here you go: 6000k with "blue hue" not the purple one. Compare that directly to the purple 6000k one, it will look a little greenish, however the lighting area on road looks a little whiter than the purple one. (the purple feels a little red)

Im asking because I just purchased the 6000K kit from WhiteNSXs and Ive never seen the 6000K in person. Im excited to get them installed asap since Ive only heard great things about the quality and easy install of his kit!!! :biggrin: :biggrin: :biggrin:

This pictures are appropriately titled. This is the HID-ONLINE 6000k kit which is Phillips Ultinon bulb and ballast. I've heard reports of kits not looking the right color and would use Phillips as a good reference to what real 6000k looks like.

There are so much variation in camera exposure that it is simply not possible to compare color temps from pictures. Patrick really needs to look at the kits in real time. Sam's kit is not as white as the 6000k but still white. Sam can probably give Patrick a few installation tips.Malibu Rapper said:

On many forums as well as this one many can tell you that as you go above the 4700k temp color you will have less usable light on the road. Even thou to the eyes the light appears brighter and whitier coming from your headlights. You will find that on the road that purplish / blueish light will just be absorbed into the darkness.
I kind of agree. I have 8000K and everything is purple at nite....

It's the 5300K kit but looks close to the 6000K setup. There some cheezy vids on there to show how the HIDs look when driving towards and away from the camera. IMO, the 4300K Phillips kit is one of the best and the best (in my opinion) looking emitted light from the car - very bright white with a hint of purple glow. Eitherway, the HID mod is one of my best mods to my cars.... makes a huge difference at night :smile:
