Your GT must be getting board sitting next to the Nsx, so I found a new stable mate for you. :)

I have seen this car in person, its has hardly been driven.

funny money...

hmmm... The 1.5million USD asking price & apparently being the selling price as well (who really knows, lol...) is quite an exhorbitant premium, IMHO.

My friend in London who is in freight/cargo-sales arranged for a Mclaren F1 to be shipped (air-freight) from London Heathrow to LAX for an owner who had acquired the car for 500,000 GBP (the exchange rate at the time was 1.89 USD / 1 GBP ). This was back in April, I recall. I am not sure if it was a British/Euro-spec car, the associated taxes/tariffs, export fees, etc. I just know how much the car was worth (rather what it sold for, and that is was en'route to the 'States).

If a McLaren F1 was sold for 500,000 pounds it must have issues or the seller must of been very desperate. That is the lowest I have ever hear of an F1 selling for, but if it had been in an accident that might be about the right price for a fixed up one.

Hey John how are you?
There are 2 McLaren F1's in Canada that I know of, one is located in the Brampton area, but the owner keeps it at his private hanger at the pearson airport.
Its NOT legal in Canada, but he doesn't drive it on the street.

The other one I have seen in person belongs to Lawrence Stroll, who also owns the Ferrari dealer in Quebec. The pic that was posted on craiglist appears to be at the Ferrari dealer in Quebec.

This car was crashed by a BMW mechanic during an engine test drive.
It might be worth 500K. :)

My neighbor down the block has a metallic blue one.

That's the thing, unfortunately I have no more info. on that Mclaren. At the time, it sounded about right (generally the subject of supercar prices is something I know VERY little about) but if going rate for one is 50% more than what I mentioned above (500k GBP or 945k USD), that's just phenomenal! I can only think of Enzo's going for a price above their MSRP as far as modern supercars go.

What? You should at least be familiar with one car that sold above list price when new - the NSX! Not to mention the Ford GT, Ferrari 288 GTO, F40, F50 and many more.

Oh, I should've been more clear! I was referring to supercars that are worth well above their original value many, many years later.

I found a 500 km 1994 F1, #7 produced, sold for $618,531 in late summer 1998 at a Brooks auction in Europe.

Would've been a hell of an investment then- sell it for at least 50% more these days.
