Here's an example of a poorly repainted NSX

I was reading the thread on repainting, and I found this example of what NOT to do. It looks like the seller wanted the car to have the "body colored cockpit" appearance of the 95+(?), however it just doesn't look right. The door handle, window trim, and side mirror trim pieces are all incorrectly painted red. That, combined with the OEM 91-92 OEM wheels, ruins the effect he may have been going for. I would not pay as much for this car as an original unpainted one. How about you guys?

P.S., to anyone interested in this NSX, I ran a carfax and it was designated a "gross California polluter" in 11/2001.

I do not think that this is enough to say it is a poor repaint. Several users on the forum painted those parts too (Mark B. if my memory is not failing...) and I think that optically it is not a bas idea. It makes the side window look lower (=more exotic) without really taking away visibility.

I don't mind the door handle being painted red, but the triangular piece next to the mirror doesn't look right. It should be black to better blend in with the lines o the side glass.

IMHO, if you're going to repaint to make it look like a newer car you should use the same scheme.
