Some of you may be familiar with a product developed by the military called "Maxi Cool". It helps the A/C system by improving heat transfer in the evaporator and condenser.

My 95 NSX red/black gets really hot here in Oklahoma. The A/C needs any help it can get. So I ordered some Maxi Cool from Interdynamics. The questionable part is It is in a can that also contains a Polyol Ester Oil, O-ring conditioner, AC cleaner, and 134a. total is can weighing 3 oz.

The sticker under front hood states that the AC compressor uses a synethic PAG oil.

My question is has anyone tried this and does the Polyol Ester mix without problems. On the Container it says it is compatible with all lubricants.

I was hoping the can contained only Maxi Cool but not so. Anyone familiar with the two compressor oils and the other additions to the Maxi Cool and any problems caused by them would be appreciated. I would hate to mess up my AC at this time of the year.

Thanks
Gale

Have you had your AC system checked by a professional? The spec for NSX R12 systems is 45 degrees F and mine blows colder than that - I can put frost on the windows with my AC on full blast! There should be no reason your AC cannot keep your car cool, even in hot sunlight (I live in Georgia). The cost of NSX AC components are so high that I would be reluctant to add an aftermarket product like this, especially since the stock system seems to work well in other cars.

Should not be needed

I have never run across a NSX that had trouble cooling unless there was a problem with some component of the a/c system. I am sure that the stuff you are talking about will have some effect on the o-rings. Even friends I have in Florida have not had problems with there systems, and the humid air is worst then the heat for a/c system. I'd think it'd be better to look into a bigger condensor if anything.
