I'm new here, want to buy an NSX for my nephew so to learn how to drive a real car. Eventually send him to a driving school like Skip Barber or something similiar. Also learn how to maintain a real car. Back in the day I had to go a long way before I finally realized the value of mid engines then own some. Any suggestions on significant year model, engine, trans, suspension, brakes, body advantages over others will be greatly appreciated. Thx, B

Here are some links that may help in your search.

And the All Articles from the NSXPrime Wiki.

I find the all articles link a little easier for me to search and navigate. But that just may be me.

A 99 Zanardi would be highly desirable if you can find one.

To me they are all nice years. 91 to 94 will be coupes. 95 to 05 will mostly be NSX-T (targa type tops... I hear targa is a Porche copywright). There are a few coupes during some of those years, see the production numbers link. 97 on will get you the bigger 3.2L engine and the 6 spd. 02 will be the last year of the pop-up lights, etc. But all that will be in the changes by year.

Good luck, keep us posted, and then post pictures of the car, with the smile on your nephew's face.

you made a typo, 2001 is the last year of the pop-up lights.

1999 Alex Zanardi is the best only 50 made
also 2001 is the best year has the 3.2L engine and the 6-speed transmission
has the new ABS

but Alex Zanardi and 2001 NSX's are never forsale goodluck finding one

cuz people will jump for either when they do show up from time to time.

Isn't the 2001 to 2005 the same engine ?3.2 6 speed

O ok what makes the 2001 the best year

3.2L 6-speed transmission started in 1997 I think

but the Newer style ABS started in 1999 I think

I forget.

just dont get an Automatic! as they are all 3.0L DE-TUNED to 256hp
from 1991-2005

whats makes the 2001 the best year. well if you want the pop-up light and the newer ABS, 3.2L and 6-speed tran then thats the year.
the 1999 Zanardi had it all but they are never for sale. so 2001 is the closest thing to it.

What's different about the 2001 ABS other than the newer pump design? Does it actually perform better?

I wish Honda upgraded the TCS at some point... to a true stability control system.

Well if thats the case the 2002 and up is the best new headlights and the bigger motor and 6 speed .
