Help With Type-R Shift Boot Install

Well i have a similar set up with a NSX-r mesh shift boot and the sos replica zanardi shift knob. Installing the shift boot is not too hard and there should be instructions on sos website, simply just taking off ac vents/clock and taking off screws and the only hard part is just not scratching the center console. As for the jam nut one is not needed for the one i bought so it just screws on to the shifter. I say just try installing it with your oem and if not return your type r shift knob and get their zanardi one = P

You need to use a jam nut for the Type-R shift knob. I think the problem that I have is that there’s not enough threads on the OEM shift lever. I couldn’t secure the shift knob on the shift lever once I had the jam knob installed.

If I install the jam nut the opposite way, I could install the shift knob but the position is wrong (the gear symbol on the top of the shift knob is not centered), and I couldn’t secure the shift boot to the jam nut.

I ordered the short shift lever from SOS today and I hope the new shift lever will solve the problem. SOS said the shift lever is shorter and has almost twice the amount of threads compared to the stock one.
