I am looking to remove my rear valence and have it painted the same color as my car instead of black.Has anyone done this?Is it hard to remove? Any pictures out there? Thanks for the help!!

The Service Manual calls it the Bumper Skirt. If you do not have the manual, and cannot get it from this website, then somehow get a copy of pages 20-49 and 20-50, to see what is involved. You have to fold back a floor trim panel, remove fender liners, under covers, 10 nuts, and the bumper assembly. Apparently, you cannot just remove the Skirt itself until the whole assembly is out, but I have never personally done it. The book says to get help lifting the assembly, and don't forget to disconnect the license plate light connector.

Happy painting,

Bill

Just did mine red without removal, just some tape.

I used Coppolino's Collision, Inc. 129-10 14th Ave. College Point, NY 11356 718-353-1800. License #:R#7040652. Near the Whitestone Bridge/Use 20th Ave. exit on Whitestone Expressway/Take service road to 14th. I can't tell you how much it cost, because I had ground effects, a new spoiler, and other mods installed as well. I'd post a picture but administration won't approve me. Looks like this car in red, with a 2002 rear center lens with the chrome logo: http://www.geocities.com/mcantoria/pictures/93sb-rear.jpg

The valence is very hard to remove with the rear bumper still attached. I've heard a couple people claim they can do it, however, most need to remove the rear bumper assy to get to the hidden bolts.

I had my car painted in the back while the bumper was off, and I was very happy with it while I still had it on the car (it has since been changed to the TAITEC rear diffuser).
