Help with headers....(I've searched and very familiar with everything)

Alright guys, I've attempted the dreadful header install. I've looked through everything single thread, article, etc. The exhaust / cats / rear header is off. I only did the rear header first because the front cross member was giving me a problem. Every thread that I've read stated that the front cross member should just slide off after you unbolt the 10 inch long bolts that bolts to the frame and the 3 engine mount bolts. When I tried to wiggle, it wouldn't budge. I've checked the service manual pdf. just to make sure I'm not missing any other bolt that is holding it in place. I've called Brian @ Source1, he told me that I have to use a 36 inch pry bar to get it loose. I didn't have one at the time, so I just finished up with the rears since it was pretty straight forward 1st and then hopefull if time permits I will tackle the front header again.

ANyone have any tips on where I should pry at? Should I pry around the mounting points?

Did you lower the shifter cables?

If everything is unbolted, I would suggest one hand on each end and lots of wiggling.
(I think that might've been what I did, if not probably some prying with a big flathead screwdriver near the mounting points.)

Don't forget to protect your eyes against falling debris.

Never mind... I got it... Took a little muscle but I got it...

thanks for the reply

I was doing the headers and got the front beam off... I cleaned off the front beam and noticed there was a tremendous amount of play...

I am...

get OEM and fill it with flexane94

or you can refill your old mount as long as you make a jig to keep the center bolt port straight. Do a search and you'll find good info

I would recommend using this over any sort of window weld if you are going to fill them yourself - (I am aware Flexane 94 is a Devcon product, I'm just saying because a lot of people use window weld)

And here's the how-to:

this is probably the route I will go when mine needs new mounts, simply because it cheaper and I wouldn't mind a more solid feel. Hell, my other car has Billet inserts in it, so this would be rather comfortable compared to that!
