Help With Check engine light/Compteh HiFlow cats

Maybe someone can help me with my dilemma. I have a 2002 NSX. I put Comphtech 1997-01 NSX headers cat replacement pipes and TATIEC exhaust with the 1999 NSX conversion pipes for the exhaust. All bolted up perfectly. I now cannot get rid of my check engine light. It will go away for a short time once I unplug the battery for a minute but will return in 10-15 miles after the reset.
I have tried the following. Just the normal hook upin the test pipes (from Comptech), O2 simulators from Caspers Electronics, and per Mark B's suggestion plug the O2 holes on the cat replacement pipes and let the O2 sensors smell the fresh air.
Nothing has worked. I am wondering if I am pissing in the wind and should give up the idea about headers and or cat replacement pipes on my 2002.
So I am wondering if a set of 95-99 hi flow cats would do the trick. If any one bought a set from Comptech please let me know how it turned out.
Please any ideas from any of you would be great.

Thanks
John

AJKS,

It sure sounds like your ODBII is not liking the fact you removed the cats. The second 02 sensor monitors to cat output as well as the reation time it takes to bring the system back to proper emissions levels. The second sensor actually tests the first sensor to see if it is functioning properly.

The first thing I would do, if possible, is put the original cats back on, and see the results. If all is well, then you may want to invest in the hi-flow cats.

Unforunately I have not seen any data about the hi-flow cats and HP gains/losses, so I cannot comment on their value.

HTH,

Some of the BMW hot-rod folks have found replacements for the O2 sensors that spoof the output for OBD-II cars. Not that I'm advocating that...
