After removing the 7 screws beneath the gaskets & leaving panel tabs above the gasket, I tried to lift the bottom section & pull up but it wont budge. Please help, any suggestion. THANKS in advance ( I was following procedures & all other parts are removed)

Hey Ray. How's everything going back in VA? Assuming you're on step #5 on pg 20-7 in the service manual, make sure you have the window rolled down and pull from the top of the door panel as inidicated on page 20-7 in the service manual. I like to start pulling from the top close to the front sash cover and make my way back to the rear sash cover. Make sure you have the connectors disconnected to.

Merry Christmas TY, You know we have"nt had a meet since you left. Anyways, I"m trying to install the fix it thingy but I cant pull the panel, I will keep trying & let you know how it turns out. I just dont want to pull to hard & maybe break something.Take care & have a HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Sorry if these sound obvious - have no way of knowing what you've done or not done

1) Remove the door handle assembly
To access the screws you need to remove the leather trim piece that fits in the handle assembly. Pry it out in the middle at the rear-most part to get your fingers behind it then grip it & pull it out towards the rear. Then remove the 8 screws and disconnect the cable pull from the handle assembly. Disconnect the power connector for the door lock & remove the whole handle assembly from the door.

2) Remove the triangle sail panel trim pieces at the top front & rear corners of the door where panel meets glass
These should just pry off.

3) Remove the screws for the door panel
There are 7 screws around the perimeter of the panel

4) Disconnect the electrical connectors at the bottom of panel
Once you have the door handle & sail panel trims & seven screws around the edge off, the panel should come off. Start by pulling it away from the rubber seal, lifting each of the plastic tabs for the screws over the top of it. At this point you should be able to pull the bottom of the panel away from the door by 6" at least. You can access the plugs at the bottom of the panel quite readily at this point & makes for less to juggle as you remove the panel.

5) Remove the panel
With the bottom of the panel pulled slightly away from the door, grab the rear vertical edge of the panel towards the top & pull it slightly out & up in a rotating motion towards the front of the car (effectively making the part by the front sail panel the fulcrum point. Once it clears the tight spot where the rear sail panel goes, it should be easy. There will another couple of connectors you will have to disconnect (especially on drivers side with the security indicator) so be careful & not try to get it completely off until you familiarize yourself where those plugs are you will have to disconnect before removing completely.

Note on #5 above:

The top chrome strip DOES NOT come off with the door panel. You slip the door panel out from under the chrome strip (as Ken mentions above, slightly out and up). I struggled alot to get that chrome strip off with the door panel the first time I did this;).

HTH,
