HELP needed!!! Shifter & shifter base questions.

I have some questions on my 92 theft recovered NSX. I bought the car without a shifter. Now I got a shifter assembly but it doesn't seem to fit onto the shifter base. Here are my questions:

1) Is it the correct NSX shifter?

2) Do the AT NSXs have different shifter base?

3) May be missing some parts?

4) Why doesn't it fit?

I took some close up pictures for the shifter comparing the shifter base. Here is the link:

I looked at the online service manual and I noticed the AT and MT have the different shifter base. But mine looks just like the MT shifter base. But why the shifter doesn't fit onto the screw holes of the base? Especially for the front pair bolts/screws. The rears will barely fit okay.

you're just showing pics of where the holes are - post a pic of the whole shifter assembly so we can see what it looks like & it will be easier to determine if your shifter is the correct one.
There definitely seems to be something strange.
