Ok, so I decided to tear into my 91 and see if the window fixit thingy had ever been installed. Panel removal was going great until the part about removing the actual panel. I can' seem to get the panel loose from the top of the sash. At the rear of the panel, the bracket where the sash cover mounts is in the way an keeps the panel from moving backwards. Does the panel lift up at the top rear of the door and go backward? Some of the DIY speaks of lifting up and pulling back but the sash bracket is in the way.

Any words of wisdom. I really don't want to break a door panel!!!!!

OK it finaly came off. WHEW! One of the prior DIY said however that the chrome trim strip came off with the door panel. Mine certainly stayey attached to the door and with the four heavy black clips I really can't see how it could come off.

And NO my window thingy clips had not been done. DARN. Now I got to decide whether to tackle replacement or take it to a body shop...

From reading the reports. I can't quite decide if this is a high risk replacement or not. Guess I'll go read up again.

Actually the trick is that the chrome strip does not come off:). First time I did this it cost me a new chrome strip:eek:

If you know the thread that said is comes off with it, please post the link here. We should get that changed. Maybe it was one of mine and it is a typo:redface:

Why replace it until you need to?
