write down your VIN number, bring some proof of ownership and head to your nearest dealer. They can cut you a new key using the VIN.

Calvin You may want to try Auto Club, they carry slim jims on most trucks. Sorry to hear of your problem.

okay guys.....thanks for all your help!! Roadside assitance came to the rescue. Now I will get me a spare key to prevent this from ever happen again.

If you are with AAA, you can get them to cut you a plastic "credit card" key. Its about as big as a credit card with a flip out plastic key. It is good for unlocking the door in your case and the whole contraption fits easily in your wallet.

If you are a AAA member I think they will cut 1 plastic key for FREE for every car you own, at least it used to be free.

It can be used until the key starts to deform. Used to enter the car only. It is not reccommended to start the car with it.

I don't think the plastic ones will work in 97+, at least not to start it, for the same reason the 'titanium' key won't - there's an immobilizer chip inside.
