where to find a sound clip of a comptech or rsr exhaust? or would someone be so kind as to record the sound of your car if you have a comptech or rsr exhaust. i've been sitting on the decision on which exhaust to get and hoped to hear them before i spend a bunch of $. i've already heared rm's exhaust. i've looked everywhere and can't find anything. PLEASE HELP!!!

Your decision should be an easy one. From what I hear RSR exhaust systems are no longer being imported into the U.S. and are not available. If you are looking for a more subtle tone then go with Comptech but if you want that 355 deep throaty sound look into RM Racing's dual tip exhaust (DTM). You won't regret it.

Although the RM system gives you the best "look at me" factor, the Comptech and RSR are easier to live with day in and day out (i.e. you won't go deaf and you won't piss off your neighbors). I have an RSR and have taken two 4000+ mile trips with it. I don't think I could take it with the RM. However having said that, my second NSX will be a weekend toy only and will have an RM :-) I guess it really depends on your tolerance level for loud exhausts.

I dont understand why you guys think the RM is loud. I rode in an RM exhaust car and it was VERY quiet and mellow. It had a bit of a loud idle, but once under speed it was definitely not as loud as I thought it would be. Maybe some of us are too civilized. Try driving a Borla Mustang or Camaro..
NSX is NOT loud.

I have a RM and it is throaty at idle but under throttle is not that much louder than stock. Before I put the RM unit on I started the car up with no muffler. It was not all that loud. It did not sound very "high performance". The catalytic converter provides quite a bit of muffling. The RM with DTM dual tips looks the coolest in my opinion but may be a bit expensive. (NSXCA member get a discount at RM which is worth it if you buy an exhaust) I would go with a muffler system that is light weight. The stock unit is very heavy. You may be able to get a custom muffler for cheaper than the Comptech or RM. Straight pipes for the cat may be the cheapest way to get the performance boost which is not much with muffler alone.
