Help! Caulking for Fender ?

I made a pretty gutsy (by my standard :D for someone who most major auto work so far is changing oil) decision to replace a damaged left rear fender by myself. So far with the help of the on-line service manual and some luck everything is going really well and I've managed to removed the old fender.

However I came upon something in the process and was wondering if you guys can enlighten me.

When I had all the bolts removed from the fender and was trying to pull off the fender, I noticed that the front leading edge of the fender where it meets the door, was stuck on to the body good. I was sure that all the bolts had been removed and I even double-checked against the service manual.

I ended up giving a few good tugs on the leading edge of the fender to finally remove it. To my amazement I noticed a bead of cream color caulking like material that was sealed between the leading edge of the fender and the body. Looks to me that its intent is to seal the gap. I can buy that! But now I need to put a new fender back on, I need this material too in order to seal the gap.

Can you guys tell me what is the caulking like material and where can I get it? :( :( :(
