Hi everyone.

I have been following this forum for many years now. Although I have not posted much information I read the forums regularly. I have always wanted an NSX since it's inception.

I think the time is approaching where I can finally afford one. My question is where to start ? I would also like to possibly drive one for experience. I have driven the newer e46 M3's and really like the drive. One of my patients is a BMW sales and is offering an M3 "close" to invoice. However I still prefer the look of the NSX.

I live in the SF bay area (Faifield/Vallejo area). I was looking at a 97+ NSX model.

Any information would be helpful.

THanks .

Great cars. I just bought mine about a month ago.

Definately go test drive a few. Look for maintenance records. One of the first ones I drove was pretty poorly maintained and 'thrashed'. It took me driving a few to know for sure what a well maintained one was supposed to feel like. Once you find one...get it inspected by a knowledgeable nsx mechanic.

I basically looked on autotrader.com, nsxprime classifieds, and nsxtraderonline.com.

I was considering the E36 M3 before I went for the NSX. There was no comparison between my two choices. The NSX is on another level compared to the E36. I know the E46 M3s are a step or two up from the E36 M3. The nice thing about the NSX in addition to how it looks and performs, is that in the end, its a Honda...so you have Honda's reliability. I was pretty dissapointed with all of BMW's 'common problems' that I had to watch for in a used car. Sounds like you are considering a new E46...so your covered for a few years anyways.

Good luck in your search!

A guy told me last night that he's got a '98 with around 10,000 miles on it for sale at Kasabians in Dublin. He sounded like he was ready to deal. He also said it is perfect, but I haven't seen it. I may go over today. There is also a Green '95 at Precision Auto in Pleasanton. Been there a while, and it needs a good detailing. There are several of us in the East Bay, and we'll always welcome more.
