The ABS on my 91 NSX is failing. It is making regular squealing sounds. My mechanic recommends obtaining the accumulator (ball shaped part with some parts attached) to avoid spending big bucks on replacing the whole thing. Is this the best approach to solving this issue? If so, any advice on where to locate this? Grateful for any advice or assistance.

first, and cheapest, is to find a nice deserted dusty/wet/grassy track/road/flat verge, and exercise your abs.... that is repeated abs stops to fire the abs solenoids.

if you find a road with a flat level grass verge you can drive at say 20 mph, put 2 wheels on the verge and apply the brakes enough to lock the side on the grass/dust. keep hold of the steering wheel! you don't have to do repeated 60mph emergency stops, just enough to lock the wheels! with 2wheels on a slippery surface, you can exercise a side/corner at a time rather than just screeching down the road in a plume of tyre smoke

if all is well, the pump will run, and the leaking solenoids will get a little flush through and seal themselves!

search abs exercising and you'll find plenty of suggestions...

if the sphere has lost it's nitrogen pressure, the abs pump will run more regularly, say after every 1 or 2 abs events, a new sphere after 4-5 or more!

that's why i suggested exercising it first.......

then it's danoland flush......

then its warrenw rebuild!!! :)
