Can anyone recommend a good, reliable, and cost effective helmet to helmet communication set for full face helmets? This would be between myself and a passenger in the same vehicle.

Check ebay and buy the cheapest motorcycle communicator you can find. Usually around $30. The reason I say this, is that after owning a cheap Ebay one and an expensive Chatterbox, they are both made in China and both are horribly unreliable so you might as well buy the cheapest POS you can find as it's going to be just as unreliable as the more expensive Chatterbox.

Which is why I posted several options...

quality has it's price

there are race team intercoms/radios so you can talk to your guys in the pits, answer the phone when your wife calls you about cutting the lawn while you are going 9/10 at 140+mph, speech recognition for altering a/f ratios on the fly, and an ipod input for your fave driving tunes somewhere in the $1000+ range

...okay maybe I made some of that up

BTW: That HPDE Communicator is a re-branded NADY with an extra $ markup.

That's true - but I can't find the unit cheaper than $85 anywhere else when searching...

I'd really prefer to have a solution I can install inside my helmet permanently so I can just connect/disconnect my wire and leave everything else in the helmet. But the ones I see that do that, are $500+.

+ for chatterbox I have mine going for 4 years..the only issue is the student mic is coming loose from the earpiece because everyone pulls on it too hard.

One key info on the chatterbox, I believe you are not supposed to charge it more than 2 hours ........ I have had mine for some 6-7 years (we had a group buy back then) but it is dying. But when it worked it was great; I had an extension chord to make it easier helmet to helmet reach.

Re: +1 for Chatterbox

Mine has held up great. It's permanently inside my helmet; no hassles. And the extension chord is a plus.

CORD, guys! Not chord. A chord is a musical pleasure, usually. If it's not, it's a dischord. Just sayin'.

Yea, communicator, they are awesome.

Bump from the dead... what is the latest thinking on these? I cannot seem to find one that has a line-level record output so that communication between the driver and the passenger can be recorded to a GoPro camera or similar device with an audio input.
