Posted this on NSX-Tech list as well but traffic is pretty slow there lately ......... and I did check the FAQ ........
I am about to install Bilsteins and given recent posts regarding the actual lowering of the car on the lower perch, I thought I start with a benchmark of what is the "oem" height from ground level to:
(a) center of the wheel caps (front/rear) using 16/17 oem wheels with oem tire sizes (will different psi in the tires - reasonable range - make much difference)? Mine is 11" in the front and 11.75" in the rear using 31 and 36 psi (measured on driver's side).
(b) jack's saddle rest (the difference to the lower frame is only 0.5" from the rest)? Mine is 4.75" both front and rear (measured on driver's side).
I am also shopping for jacks; so far Sears cheapest Craftsman 2 1/4 ton ($29.99 with carrying case) and Harbor Freight 2 ton (last time I checked it was on sale for $20?) have the lowest saddle heights at about 5" ........ I guess a 2x6 should help raise the car enough to push the jack .....
Edit: I just checked the NSX brochures, the 97, 99 and the Zanardi all note that the minimum ground clearance is 4.6" but none specify where the measurement is from. Is ground clearance different from a 0.4" overall lowered height for the Zanardi .....?
