Heating and AC Controls Quit Working

So my HVAC controller has gone wacky on the last sports car trip to the mountains and I was wondering where to start. The display has gone blank, the fan is on ful blast and no manupliation of the knobs or buttons changes the state of the unit. Is it time to pull it out and get the unit rebuilt or is there a simple solution.

I found a couple of gys on e-bay who say they rebuild these things, does anyone have any experience with this?

Brian is your friend. The guys at Autowave sent my unit over to him while my car was sitting there for a few weeks being worked on. Figured may as well get it done since it crapped out a few years back and I have been slacking on getting it fixed. Symptoms were the same as yours, except before the display going blank mine would do a pseudo disco theme with random flashing of different symbols. :biggrin:
