Headlight noise up and down??

Hello everyone! I just purchased my first NSX and love it. Now I'm trying to tweak it out and make sure everything is up to spec. The main thing I am asking about is that when the headlights pop up it is fairly quiet, but when they go down, the sound is much more harsh. Just wondering if this is the norm?? Thanks everyone.

I just went to the garage and checked my 2000 NSX. Standing outside the drivers door, the only difference seemed a slight increase in motor speed when the highlights go down, which I would expect. It did NOT seem louder.

let me bring this thread back from the dead...
i too am experiencing this. when the drivers side light goes down it almost sounds as if the gears are grinding. ???
any similar experiences out there?

Try getting together with another NSXer in your area and listening to his/hers to see if it sounds the same as yours.

(This may be easier for pixelhaus than for bearcat.)
