hi guys,
i've just replaced the entire exhaust- now CEL and the TCS light comes on after a minute or so of driving= obviously the CEL is triggered by an O2 sensor issue but the TCS? the 'search' tells me that the parking brake being engaged will disable the TCS- obviously the parking brake is off but i did have mess with the parking brake cable mounts during the job, and noticed that there was a fair amount of tension in one side after re-installing.
any ideas or is it 'normal' for both lights to come on?
edit: pulled the clock fuse to reset but it comes back, i'll pull the tcs code next.

let me re-phrase-
is it possible for O2 sensor problem to trigger CEL and TCS lights at the same time?
what could have i disturbed during the job that would throw the TCS light (besides the possible parking brake cable issue)?

I lost both primary O2 sensors over a period of two years. In both cases the failure was in the pre-heater on the O2 sensors (and covered by the 14 year extened warranty for MY's 1995 - 1997). In both cases both the CEL and TCS lights came on.

So, when the two lights came on together the second time (in the middle of an NSXCA event), I pretty much knew what the problem was even before pulling the trouble codes.

What code(s) are you getting? On the 95 & 96's, its often the heater in the sensor that goes. A simple ohmmeter test across the heater terminals on the sensor will verify the failure.

I'm getting ready for a trip and may miss your response, so PM me if you pull the codes.

Do you have access to an ohmmeter? (a cheap one is fine; accuracy is almost irrelevant) If its the heaters, I'll look up the pin numers and the expected resistance.
