I've searched all around this forum looking for a DIY to remove the stock headers (I swear I've seen it here before)... can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks!

I was going to attempt it since I work on my own stuff but I wound up paying an NSX tech $300 to do it for me. Well worth it IMHO. Just FYI, who ever winds up doing it, you should go to Acura and purchase all new manifold nuts when you get your gaskets.

+1  I did the same...worth the $300. I just work some O.T. to pay for it.

for the diy enthusiast, I would definitely recommend doing it yourself since its always fun and exciting.

the job is very reasonable and not too difficult, it could be tricky with the car on jacks since you need to drop the sub frame and also the A/C compressor.

the manifold bolts on the rear head is easy to get to but there are a couple on the front that needs triple joined wrists.

The directions does not have any pictures. next time when im doing one, ill post pictures.

Go DIY!

regards

Rob

enkrytpt3d: You've been recently at Ron's garage and were fully satisfied. Why don't you bring him the car for the headers too? It's not an easy DIY for beginners. Even I hesitate and we did quite a lot of stuff (gearbox etc.)

yea I was thinking about it but I'm just looking for a way to save some $... I have a buddy of mine thats willing to help me out altho he's not an NSX owner, he's just as much of a gear head than we are. :) Trying my best not to drop another $1k at the moment. It will most likely be a few weeks before I get the parts together to do this next project.

If anyone is going to do this job on the floor.

I suggest get a nice padded creeper that can incline on the back and bring a nice comfy pillow....
