Guys,

Just a quick question for the Aussies here...

I recieved my TAITEC Headers, GT lightwieght today and the Catrell Intake (YIPPEEEEE :D ). Just wondering if anybody knows of a place that I can rely on to do a good install and/or not joyride in my car. Nobody comes to mind :(

Exhaust and intake are easy DYI'ers, but I do not have the time right now, or in the near future to do a header install myself and I am impatient ;)

I'm sure Dippy can give you a heads up..

You should do a pre mods dyno and after mods.

Btw, how much was the shipping and did u get hit with tax ?? and from where ? SOS ?

Good Luck

Shipping was about the 400.00 Aus mark, I think. Tax as usual was a big one - about 800.00.

Got the shipment from SOS. Chris helped me out a lot - prompt replies. The guy seems to live at his office, kinda like me ;)

Cheapest quote I got was believe it or not from Robert Lane Honda. The NSX 'techy will do the install for me on Thursday...yeah!!!

Congrats to your choice) :) (as I have the same:D). Make sure that the wiring harness of the Taitec are soldered before installing. If you install it out of the box you may have problems like I did.

Greetings,
Thomas

Got a call from the dealer today, telling me they cannot complete the header install. The dealer does not have two spare gaskets for the headers in stock - they did when I booked it in two days ago...perhaps these are a hotly saught after item

Anyway, I will have to wait 6 weeks  for these to get delivered from Japan. The guy was reluctant to use the existing gaskets.

You guys had any trouble doing this?

Thomas, do you mean preparing the 02 sensor harness by soldering prior to installation? What problems did you have?

Thanks!

I'd do the soldering before the installation otherwise you'll may run in the same problem as I did:

It takes six weeks for delivery when the supplier is tight and doesn't want to pay air-freight. :(

Now this I did not know. I am going to ring them and get them to air-frieght it. I can let the fact that they said they had they gaskets in stock but could not find them slide, but I don't like waiting 6 weeks on the account of somebody being a tightbutt about it. Considering the difficulty of getting the car there during working hours, they should be fast tracking this to rectify the problem. Thanks Neo, the be getting a call from me....now where is that blow horn...... :D

I think thats bloody poor effort... You could even order it from the US and shipped total 1 week.

btw, my car was purchased from Robert Lane.
Good Luck

Dont tell me the car is sitting at Robert Lane for 6 weeks? :(

:)

If this was the case, you would have heard about it on the news...

"And this just in: There is a crazy Indian guy riding an elephant through a honda dealership in brighton [AKA Robert Lane]. We cross now to a live feed."

:p

hahaha

why dont you install the exhaust first so we can go for a run through the city. I've been cruising through the city making a racket. Been revving it high so i can hear all the vibrations off the concrete jungle.

I have installed the exhaust myself. Pretty happy with it so far, loud but not too loud. I enjoy going down collins street and making a rucuss...disturbing the tranquility of some of the snobby business folk...it is fun!

Glad your enjoying the exhaust!

I can confirm the nil availability of the manifold gaskets... None in Brisbane , Sydney or Melbourne. Though they quoted 2-3 weeks and 10 days depending on which dealer I talked to.

Flight, Have you ordered the gaskets? If so, how long are they quoting now?

If not, are you intending to have an aftermarket gasket made up?

I need a set, like next week.... I have a dyno session booked for the 17th to do a before and after DC header install session.

AU and flight get in touch with each other and get one of the US members give you a hand in express 2-3 days delivery from the US.. parts are cheaper there so it'll cover the extra shipping...

I got them to order the gaskets, they said 4-5 weeks. I did not get the chance to chase this up though. I will do so. If they do not give me something satisfactory, I think we should go with NSXBOX's suggestion. I will pm you when I have more information.

Any new news on your gasket's?

Gaskets arrived on Thursday from Mark Johnson at Dali!

Don't you just love the irony in all of this... 4 days from www.daliracing.com in the States or 6 weeks from Honda Australia via Japan!

Anyway, I am sending them down to flight in Melbourne today so he should have them tomorrow!
