Hi guys,
I plan to buy the tubi exhaust, so I want your opinion on these:
Do you have any sound files of your tubi exhaust?
Please lists your performance aftermarket parts or original (stock) that produce that sounds.
If you have heard it in person, which combo produce better sound?

P.S. Ron and Gary,
do you use an aftermarket header in your car?

Thanks,

I do not have new headers...only the Tubi exhaust. I also do not have a sound clip but I can assure you that you will love it. Try to imagine a deep and throaty sound at low rpms, then a wail after the vtech kicks in, finally a deep burble after stopping. You will never play your radio again! You will look for the nearest overpass or tunnel to accentuate the sound! It is really that good!!!

I have the OEM boat anchor headers. Just not quite ready to drop the dough for the limited gains HP wise. I also have a K&N cone type filter which I will probably switch back to stock some day when I do not have 20 other things to do:-( I would think that headers would improve the sound somewhat, and probably make it a little louder, but I am guessing here. I will also get sound clips some day as I have a tape, but have not upgraded my computer to firewire yet. (See above):-(

I don't think a sound clip exists. Several weeks after I purchased I did a pretty extensive FAQ search looking @ other comments. Was hoping to find a clip someone did after the first group purchase of the tubi and couldn't locate one. From what was indicated on the site, it may sound close to a 355 Ferrari. If a clip does exist I too would like to hear it??? It appears that several of us are looking at a tubi and/or the Borla as a future purchase when they are available. Has anyone made up their mind for sure?

I do recall bboxer (NSX Tubi Distributor) saying that the NSX with Tubi sounds better than his Ferrari (also with a Tubi exhaust system.)

Assuming the cost is reasonable I'm going for the Borla. Outside sound clips are nice but of limited usefulness to me because, as the driver, the interior clips give me a sense of what I'm going to be hearing. I couldn't find any interior Tubi clips. I did find interior clips of the Borla on Anytime's site. It sounds a lot like the GruppeM, not as loud but with a similar ripping sound when vtec kicks in.

Powered by Honda, your right, I do remember him saying that it sounded better.

Russ, you may want to private Anytime, I was quoted $1200-1400 on the Borla w/o shipping. Havn't made up my mind yet but the 12 HP gain sounds nice as long as it has the quad tips like the tubi, i'm sure the tubi & borla will both be good products. Unfortunatly living hear in the mid-west, I can't hear either one in person like some of the west coast owners can.

While we have one of the most active chapters with several track events and outings, I finally heard a Taitec exhaust yesterday, it was just installed a few days ago. While idling the sound was cat like growl very sweet ........ unfortunately we were not able to hear it on full VTEC as we were also cruising with VTEC and my Cantrel Concepts AIS was singing next to my ear ......

The finish and how it was tucked under the valence was quite surprising. And the tips were better than and they did extend a bit more than the oem which I think is a must for an aftermarket exhaust ...... A 2002 rear valence would make it look so much better, in fact it will make any NSX look better.

Still have not heard a GruppeM or a Tubi in person ..... I love the Tubi tips and I think they have the best look .... though they heed to be an inch longer ........ I am under the impression that Borla will have a similar tip, at least that was the initial thought.

And I too have been waiting to hear the final product/finished look from Borla ..........

The header IMHO gives the most hp gain on '91-'96 NSXs with the cast iron exhaust manifolds (as far as exhaust mods go). If you ask me just the exhaust doesn't give alot of gain for the money if you compare it against the header. I think the #1 reason for the exhaust is the combination of weight savings, looks, and sound. When I installed a header on my car there was a noticeable difference in power. The car was more peppy and did not feel like it was "running out of breath" like it did before. Also, I don't know whether its coming from the exhaust or the engine, but the car was indeed louder.

The Borla/anytime exhaust isn't on the market yet, so no one has one. But there are Midwestern NSX owners using the Tubi...

Hello AS soon that I will fix my computer I will post clip and sound with DC SPORTS HEADER CAT BYPASS AND TUBI EXHAUST.
In this configuration the car its very louder similar to jtcgt cars

In an email from an NSXCA rep, I read that the 97 + NSX doesn't need an aftermarket header because it's not restrictive as the pre 97 NSX. I was looking into an aftermarket header but wanted to know if anyone else agrees. Rather than spent $1500 on a header I can save for the BBSC.

What makes the setup "like jtgtc" loud in Andrea's post is really the absence of cats, not so much the DC/Tubi combination. Once the cats are off (and you shouldn't do that, it's illegal in this country), the DC/Tubi comnbination is totally "corrupted" by loud decibels ! The DC/Tubi combo is really good. This is what I have and over time (a few weeks of driving) the Tubi really opened up into its own. I still think it sounds like nothing else I've heard on an NSX.

The dtock Headers are realy so bad I was realy surprise fron honda that they made this kind of stuff. Since I put the headers my car its change a lot more fast to raise rpm and more fast end speed the erogation curve now its realy good and loose less rpm when you shift up then before with stock gears

Of course that noise will going to change but i think in better

SEE & HEAR THE TUBI at AKIRA3D's posting on page 2 of this thread http://www.nsxprime.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/002750-2.html , which has the following clips
Windows Media Video clip (995KB)
MP3 audio clip (489KB)

Administrator's: It certainly would be nice to put these clips in the exhaust section of the FAQ, because there continue to be so many requests.

Andrea,

What year is your NSX and what type of HEader did you install.

Thanx

Which one you guys like Tubi exhaust or Borla exhaust tone?
I wish the Tubi company create more sound files (please include the sound from inside of the car).

How's the quality comparison Borla Vs. Tubi?

Is there someone who own NSX with Tubi Exhaust in SF bay area?

I would like to hear it in person.

Thanks

I installed DC headers and Tubi exhaust on my '93. One of my favorite sounds is when I first turn the key and the car comes to life. There has been a seat of the pants improvement in "peppiness". A friend and fellow NSXer claims it's the closest thing to a Ferrarri that he's heard, which promted him to order one.

Still not here; it hasn't been easy dealing with my Italian friends. Tubi's very busy making Maserati exhausts for Ferr/Mas. dealers, so everything else (custom) has taken second place since May. Factory goes on annual vacation in August and the first batch of NSX units (out of the 30 ordered) is ready and spread into three (airfreight) crates all shipping this week. I don't know how many NSX units but probably 10-15. Again, my apologies for these delays. I will post as soon as I know they're here.

INSX,

Gary from Danville has a Tubi, If you are interested in hearing it, I can give you his number and you guys can meet up. I may as well go since he said it sounds much better now than then.

His tubi sounds awesome...

Just got confirmation that "at least" 15 NSX Tubi's are on their way. We will be ready for domestic shipments next week. In order not to clutter this forum with emails, please email me privately. Thanks.

I asked if he could do a drive by on the left lane as I anxiously cruised in the middle one. When he passed I was like
