Aloha Hawaii NSXer's,

In case you didn't know, they're going to close down Hawaii Raceway Park in April of 2006, which means after that, there will be no race track on Oahu. There's a big car cruise being organized for tomorrow (Presidents' Day) for motorsports enthsiasts to show support for a new track.

Here's the information

I'll be there in my red '91, meeting some folks at Kakaako Beach Park at about 11:30am. Being a new owner, it would be nice to meet some of my fellow NSXers.

Well that stinks. When I was there in October, a Sushi Chef that was into cars said the race track got some pretty good use and attendance - apparently not, if it is being closed. :frown: :frown:

The problem is that the track is built on someone else's land, the lease is up, and the owner wants the land back. There's been a lot of development in the areas near the track and the value of that land has skyrocketed.

The whole leased land thing over in Hawaii - BLOWS!!! Unless of course, you are one of the original 6 or 7 families that own the land.
