Hi
I've been thinking and it scared me a bit
I saw the movie Top Gun back in 1986 where Tom Cruise had a Kawasaki GPZ900R (or a 1100).
First bike I bought was a Kawasaki GPZ600R. Picture below.
Then ten years after Top Gun I watched True Lies with Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jamie Lee Curtis.
In that movie Arnold's daughter's boyfriend had a Kawasaki ZXR750. Well I bought a 94' ZXR 750 in the same colours. I have attached a picture of the bike here.
On the picture I have attached you see the car I "had" to buy after watching that movie. The Gen1 Honda CRX which Jamie Lee Curtis drove in that movie.
The only vehicle from that movie I did not buy was the Harrier Arnold had. But I am pretty sure that if I find one on Ebay I would get all weak again
On the right on the picture you see yet another car that I bought.. It was a Mazda 323F with pop up headlights...yes you'r right..I had it in me all the time..the fetish for pop up headlights
I saw Pulp Fiction in 1994 and now I have a Sebring Silver NSX as Mr.Wolf.
I watched Ghostrider and his cool black Suzuki GSX-R1000 and now I have ordered a black GSX-R1000 2002 racebike.
The first car I had was a Simca 1100, but I got that one from my mum which does not have the same taste in movies as me.
I can not explain with movies why I bought a Prelude 2.2 VTEC, but I am sure that in the back of my head I knew the NSX had VTEC. If only the 1994 Prelude had popuplights my obsession would have stopped there...yeah sure.
I bought a Kawasaki ZX9R after the ZXR750. I can't explain that with movies either. But it was green as the bike in True Lies. I missed my ZXR750 eversince I sold it and now there may be a ZXR400(in the same colours) in the future for me when the ZX9R sells.
Well that is my story. I have to stop watching movies because it seems I am influenced quite easy by them. I am a bit scared since I think that the Starship Enterprise looks cool and the Millenium Falcon is not that bad..
I am sure that a shrink would have a lot to work with if he got hold of me
Regards
