Has used NSX's always been in demand?

Is it just me or does it seem like the market/demand for used NSX's has gone up these days. I remember like 3yrs ago when the 91 nsx were LOW $20,000 under $25k and now a days the 91'ers with low miles sell for $30k+. Was it always like this? Or is it just me and everyone is looking for a NSX NOW? Does the market for nsx's go up and down or has it always been in demand and always asking 30k plus?

The people who grew up with hotrodded civics are now in a position where they can afford an early NSX, as that was always the dream when they were in high school. I'm one of them. 5 years out of college, got a house, married, financially stable, etc. Still driving my hopped up CRX, but I want an NSX before kids show up and make it less likely.

I think it depends on the car. Low miles and well maintained NSX will fetch a high price regardless of year.

I personally see the NSX as a collectable. I want to have an 01 to drive and keep my 91 as a show peice. As for the prices, I cant say I have ever seen them drop too much less than 30k if low mileage. Although I think low mileage is to have under 60 k no matter what year NSX. I hope these cars go up up up!

Personally, while I was looking for my NSX a few years ago none that were worth looking at IMHO were going for anywhere near low $20K even for 91-92 models. I ended up paying $32K for my 92 a couple years ago. If anything, the prices over all went down just a little but and stablized. I say it went down over all a bit only because there are less low miles early cars that I see than a few years ago. Before you would see a few 91-92 with under 20K miles, now most seem to be between 35-50K or higher.

I happen to looked extremely hard 3 years ago. I can assure you the price have not gone up. Instead went down a few $k actually.

91s were never in low $20K under $25k unless it had 100k+ miles or with some flaws. Clean 91s have aleays been around $28k~$32k range. If there are 91s with low miles for $20k. I would pick up 5 nsxs immediately and pay in cash and resell them immediately.

The price probably seems like it has gone up for you probably because you have started to look for them, you are actually paying more attention to other details.

Those prices seem pretty accurate.

When i was looking for an NSX last month the lowest prices i found were around 30k and those were 91s-92s
I found a 95 (25k mi) for 38k and a 97 (60k mi) for 42k.

One of the many things the NSX amazes me with is how well it holds its value

here is a link i found with some rough estimates of used NSX prices:

yeah ..the ones i looked at 3yrs ago were 80-90k miles and i could swear they were $20,000 for them.

Most likely with salvage title or one of those ebay/autotrader frauds.

The lowest I have ever seen are $22k for ones with 130~150k miles. $20k for 80~90k mile nsx with no accident history would be incredible steal. There are so many nsx owners who would love to pick up another one at that price and use it as daily beater or project car.

The prices of the early NSXs have actually gone up over the past 2 years. I sold my first NSX on Prime 2 years ago. It was a very nice 57k miled 1992 white/black car with brand new tranny and clutch. I sold it for $28k in 2003. Today, it will be very very hard to find the same car for $28k.

yeah yeah.....it seems like its gone up. So is it just a trend these days that the market for NSX's has gone up? It just seems like its gone up and only because it seems like everybody wants one at this period in time. So does it go up and down....down meaning when used NSX's sales go down and not a lot of people looking for them?

Thats sounds accurate. Also with the HSC supposedly coming out soon, i wouldn't be surprised to see another shift in used NSX pricing...

Same position i find myself in now. No house or wife though!

Yes, I perfer a well maintain NSX over a low mileage NSX anyday. About 9 months ago I purchase my NSX for 30k.
It's no way in hell I will sell my NSX for 30K now. Especially after a new clutch/CT Exhaust/Radio/Cat Converter/ & some more minor things. Good lucky on finding one for under 30K.

The NSX market is strong, and I like that. The car is wonderful, and I think that the prices will still stay positive for well kept cars since there is no replacement for the NSX. It was a one time deal, so the ones that are out there now are the only ones that people will be able to get.

I am not sure if they have gone up or down a couple k in the last couple yrs.
I just bought a 94 and was REALLY looking. Drove 8 cars after running 100 carfax's.
Finally got a great car at a great price.
My urgency was based on the fact that I believe nice examples have bottomed out.
(and the amount of "real" nice examples is actually very small)
No paint work, 1-2 owners, complete history, no visible flaws etc.
Looked at some super lo mi. cars, but the one I ended up with has 59k.
The worst one of the bunch had 23k mi.
The window sticker the came with the car reads $76,000.00 1994 dollars.
My local dealer tells me this is the last yr. NSX's will be made. Too many things told me I had better find a near perfect 91-94 and fast.
I would not be surprised if these cars start to appreciate one of these days.
Just too many things point to its collectability. I was actually shocked they could be had in super cond in the low 30's, but have not kept up through the yrs.
These will be the exotic / Muscle cars of the future.
(Just sold a 65 425hp Vette after 8yrs and did very well, 22X its orig price)
Numbers built alone on these cars tells me its a cant miss proposition.
I had no idea how few were built, and how afordable they are.
Mark my words! Too many kids driving Hondas for these not to one day pop.
But I didn't buy mine as an investment, I plan on driving & enjoying it.
(Just got back from a blast down PCH)
On the other hand, I do not expect to loose a dime on the deal either.
Just another point of view, worth what you paid for it.
(So exited I keep posting pic's of my car!) Dont mind me...............

Nice NSX

Thanks. You too. Was yours a RHD conversion or a JDM / EDM chassis? I'm not much for the show circuit, but your car is clean.

Thanks :) I'm from Australia, so the steering wheel is on the right hand side. My crx wasn't finished, grey leather interior and stereo were supposed to go in. Now it's all going in the nsx, clean lines but wild is what i'm after. You should like my NSX once it's done then :D
