I was wondering the same thing.their is a way to turn off the abs using the e-brake.I think you drive about a half a mile with the e-brake up one click notch and the abs goes off
do a search on abs and you will find the thread that has the exact procedure and not (insomnia memory recollection)

The ALB system can be disabled by pulling the parking brake up one or two "clicks," then starting the car and driving (preferably slowly!) with the parking brake just barely engaged for a few miles. The ALB warning light on the dash will come on to warn you that ALB is not active. Once this happens you can completely disengage the parking brake.
