Has anyone heard of or used HyTech Exhausts in Irvine? They build custom headers and exhausts for Integras, RSXes and other Honda's.

TIA

John over there is an absolute artist with a TIG welder. I can sit and stare at his work all day long.

I've seen his headers make some impressive gains. Had a set on my GSR and it made a WORLD of difference...... I be scared too see how much he wants to do a set for the NSX though.... the GSR header was like $1200.00

I've also had the pleasure of working with John to produce a couple sets of custom headers and exhausts for my old Integra Type R race cars.

I paid $1800 for the first header, and about $1200 for the second ones that were slightly improved. He also did a custom exhaust for me, but it wasn't as nice as his headers. Fitment was bad.

Regardless, it was a protoype so I can't complain. The headers were very expensive but worth it in my opinion. With the help of his headers/exhaust, and some engine work/tuning, I was able to produce 240 HP to the wheels on an NA B18C5R motor. I was very impressed because all of the high dollar Japanese Headers didn't even come close to what his headers produced.

A friend of mine also works for John, so I can pass along his contact info for you if you want to talk to John about custom headers for your NSX...

From what I've seen Hytech makes really good header. As well as Comptech. A lot of people complained about prices, but you really get what you paid for.

I gained 9 wheel HP just from changing to Comptech Race header from DC Sport 4-1 header on my B18C (jdm)

Has anyone used their exhaust system (catback)? They are expensive - got a quote for $1800.00 for a completely custom built catback system. I listened to a sound clip from an RSX that sounds awesome!! Nothing I've heard sounds this good. And yes I do know that a 4 cyl. will sound different than a V-6. All I have to do now is get approval from the boss :D !

Hy-Tech Exhaust

For that much money, you should look into Tubi. I read in another forum that someone was organizing a group buy (to entice Tubi into making another production run). Otherwise, be patient and one may pop up for sale. I owned a Comptech exhaust before and jumped on a used Tubi a few months ago. Cost $1350 and is worth every penny...nothing quite like it!

wow... what a small world.....John lives 4 houses away from me.....his stuff is awsome......and he's real big into RSX's

He told me he live next door to someone that owned an NSX.

Tell John to drop the "R" and add a "N" to the "SX" and start producing some cool stuff for us.

Like some headers with all the anti-reversion & merge collectors like the 4cyl stuff

For NSX stuff, I still put my money in Comptech product. Their involvement and experience in NSX racing is overwhelming. If you are willing to shell out the money, you should contact Comptech and buy their race headers. Don't be surprise about the cost, if you understand that Integra race headers cost around $1000-$1500 each.

What are their race headers like in comparison to their regular retail headers?

I don't mind waiting a little bit longer, to come up with a little more $$$, as long as the stuff is worth it.

I'm not the one to say what is the price. I would suggest to contact Comptech yourself. Keep in mind this is not off the shelf item, as they make one to order. Please inquire only if you are serious, as I don't think they just sell it to anybody.
