Ilha Fernando de Noronha...

off the coast of northern Brazil.
3°50'15.79"S 32°26'27.25"W

I've been planning a trip to a semi-secluded island for me and the wife.
I've looked at alot of different aspects when considering this vacation and this is what I've come up with. For me it looks perfect.

I'm sure that there's someone here who's been there. Or, just give your opinion on this particular island.

Where is it? Who's going to cook for you? Where are you going to sleep?

Good questions. By the sound of it I guess you think the island is uninhabated.

It's off the northern coast of Brazil by Recife. I gave the coordinates in my first post. There are over 100 "pousadas" to stay at and they all come with free breakfast. There are about 15 restaurants on the island too.

The island is a great place to go snorkeling and scuba diving because of the clear water. There is a ship wreck and alot of coral reefs in off the island.

There are about 2000 residents on the island and there is a radio station and TV station in operation there.

The island is a nature reserve in Brazil and there are some areas that are forbidden to enter. This island is currently the home to most populated dolphin reservation in the world. There are over 800 dolphins in one bay at a time. You can only take a boat out to that area though. There are old forts to hike to and trails all over the island.

You can rent buggys and dirt bikes to get around. You can also rent scuba diving equipment there.

This island is the home to the 2 most beautiful beaches in Brazil.

:biggrin:Didn't Tom Hanks spend a little time there.... ?

He wasn't alone. He had wilson, a dead Fedex pilot, and plenty of fresh sashimi:biggrin:
