Harness bar and belt question

I'm way overdue on getting a harness bar and belts for my tracking adventures. I bought this harness bar with Simpson belts off of a prime member and I'm just getting around to installing it. Forgive my ignorance, but does anyone have any advise on the following?:

1) Can the harness bar and belts be mounted so I can still be able to use my stock seats? If so, do I need to make any modifications to the car, belts, seat or harness?

2) It only came with 4 belts which I understand is not as safe as 5 belts. Any idea on where to purchase a 5th belt?

3) I assume I need to buy this part from Dali in order to install the 5th belt? Can someone confirm this? http://www.daliracing.com/v666-5/catalog/index_browse_part.cfm?focus=1913

Thanks in advance!
Ryan

looks like the comptech system.Yes your seat and oem belt system still work although obviously there is a slight reduction in rear travel. You can get the antisub belt from simpson. My mechanic bolted it to the floor under the seat and an upholstery shop cut and resewed the slit for it.I think you will really like the added support and will probably gain some time as a result.

Re: Yeah, what doc said...........

but do some research on where and how to mount the anti-sub belt(s).

And, IIRC, you should have D-rings on the lap belts used for threading 2 anti-sub belts that you sit on. If you've got those, you can attach the anti-sub belts to the same hardpoints as the lap belts, avoiding the seat cushion modification.

Thanks for the advice. It's great to know that the harness will work with my stock seats. I will order the sub belt from Simpson.

The Dali sub belt mount attaches to the bottom of the stock seats. I'm unclear if this is an ok situation. It looks pretty good to me. Can anyone advise if this is sufficient or if it's much safer to mount the sub belts to the floor as you mentioned?

we have discussed the dali solution vs the bolt straight though, and the dali idea was felt less safe/more compromised.

I designed the sub mount Dali sells. They are more than adequate to secure your body in the case of an accident. The pelvis will break with 1200 lb. of force, this sub belt mount is strong enough to take more force than that and efficiently transfer the energy into the seat rails at the optimal angle to maintain the lap belts on your hips. The big advantage of this design is the sub belt is always in the correct location no matter where the seat is adjusted.

Docjohn is correct, if you set up your car for only one driver, a direct mount to the floor is the best way to go.

Wow Dave i never knew you did R&D for MJ:redface:
