Several years ago, I attended a "high-dollar," car show in Southern Cal. It was held on the lawn of the Newport Inn. I got there about move-in time and browsed around to find out what the entrants were using to prepare for the show. Of course, the usual Meguiar's, Mother's, Griot's, etc were common. But...I ran across several who were using a product called Harly's Wax. I asked where they got it and everyone said they purchased it from "Paul's Products," in Huntington Beach. In a later phone conversation I had with Paul, he indicated that he was the national distributor. Since then, I've used it exclusively on several show cars. In Denver, we have a serious UV problem and Harly's keeps the cars looking better, longer. He has a toll-free number of 1.800.827.1361. The site is http://harlywax.com/HarlyWax/.

I get a little scared of "wax" when the lid says, "CAUTION: Combustible, harmful or fatal if swallowed." Not really into those petroleum distillates in my "wax"

Me either. Wish waxes didn't have them, but in order to soften carnauba to point where it can be used, petroleum distillates must be added.

Which wax do you use? I use Detailing Dynamics.

Petroleum distillates are necessary as a solvent for 100% rock-hard carnauba; the one thing you don't want in a wax product is silicone. Zymol is great stuff and it holds up quite well. From what I've observed, Harlys seems to give a better surface protection, in a high UV climate, for a longer period of time. Bentonae

Over the counter Zymol is not recommended for original paint or new cars, label reads "for oxidized paint". Carnauba wax really brings out the luster.

3M products and the higher end Zymol are my personal favorites.
