Hand-built engines for new Corvette Z06 will give GM flexibility

What's the advantage of having a hand-built engine?

I think there are a couple of advantages.

Number one is the pride of ownership and consumer satisfaction. The customer can tell his friends: "This is hand-built."

interesting answer. I guess that means that quality craftmenship is not the #1 reason

So with that being said, do the Vette owners now finally understand why we take pride of ownership and consumer satisfaction in our COMPLETELY hand-built NSXs??

wonder if they will be lower volume and much higher priced?

I have a feeling the next Z06 will be $65K or more. It will still undercut the Viper by $15,000 and should perform on par or better.

$65k:eek:  - that would be $20k more than the base vette. seems a bit high for me. I would guesstimate $58-$60K.
