No matter what the GT-R can't be a supercar bc the engine isn't mounted in the right place. It's a fast, capable GT car or front engined sports car which cannot be considered an "exotic" due to its fundamental design philosophy, IMO. It has the rarity going... Sort of. Plus just look at the cars it evolved from, it really is more of a high tech muscle car / hotrodding philosophy with the addition of attention paid to how it turns. Very capable indeed but front engine cars just don't float my boat and a lot of other primers are the same way. It is the essential characteristic of the NSX and probably why most of us own one. . There have been other mid engine cars which are not exotic of course (boxster/mr2/lotus), but without F1 pedigree, rarity, and quality they don't really have the whole package. The NSX is still one of the very few that have it all.
