(Lud, not sure where the line is between on and off topic, so move this if you like.)

I have been in touch with the manufacturers and retailers of several pretty nifty items that might be of interest for a group buy. The discounts aren't particularly large, but still worthwhile.

G-Cube and Geez software: I've posted raves about this before. IMO, $ for $ this is the best tuner's tool and track event analysis system you can buy. Dynos have their place, but the bottom line is real-world results. The G-Cube measures Gs in two planes (accelleration/braking and cornering) and logs the data in real time (10-20 times/sec.) The Geez software then allows you to plot the data in a variety of ways so you can see exactly how hard a car pulls and brakes at any speed in any gear. By comparison, basic 0-x times are lame, but you can get those too if that's what you want. Use it at the track or auto-cross and it will draw the track for you, showing your speed at each point, the G's you pull in the corners and how hard you accelerate and brake. Imagine the possibilities. Is it perfect? No, but it's so much better than anything else that it's still a bargain.

The "Racre's Pack" with the Cube and Software is normally $395 + s&h. The group buy rates are: 4-6 units = $375, 7-10 units = $360, 11-20 = $350, 21+ = $345.

I paid $395 and recommend it without hesitation.

CarTest 2000: I just bought this at the regular price ($39.95 via email, or you can get CD for $49.95). I've just stated playing with it, but I'm already pleased with the value. If we do a group buy I'll give several away as Christmas Gifts. It's a very nice tool for analyzing mods before you do them, changing gear ratios, tire/wheel diameter, adding HP and removing weight, etc. It simulates acceleration with complex calculations based on a broad array of parameters that you can adjust, and it come with a database of over 1200 pre-defined cars including quite a few NSX variants. Easily worth the full price, but he said he would give a group rate when he knows how many are interested. (Doesn't seem to have much experience with the concept.) Given the regular price, I think we can assume modest discounts but anything is better than nothing.

The big ticket item is an "real" air-fuel meter. The one I found that looks like the best value is the FJO Enterprises WBO2 Wideband Oxygen Sensor Controller, display, and sensor. The deal is 15% off the normal price if we order a combined value of at least $5,000 (after discount). The kits are $633.67 (reg $745) for the simple digital display, and $807.50 (reg $950) for the data logging version which also tracks RPM.

I'm very interested in getting something of this type and this appears to be one of the better values on a genuine wide-band unit. If anyone knows of a better choice I'm listening.

The retailer that offered these rates (others declined) is:

The manufacturer is:

I have no financial interest in any of these and will not profit from these deals in any way other than getting the same price as anyone else in the group. As I said above, I already have the first two but would buy more of the CarTest 2000 program for gifts.

So, anyone else interested in any of these?
