Grinding/wobbling sound while accelerating... ?!

I hear a grinding/wobbling sound while I'm accelerating... it's only while accelerating.. in every gear, never while decelerating or applying the brakes... and it seems to be coming from the driver's side rear area of the car, but it's hard to tell b/c the sound of the engine is almost louder than the grinding sound itself.. I say grinding because thats the closest thing I can associate it to... wobbling almost because it has a rotational property to it... as if something's rubbing on something somewhere... I just had major service done, 90k service, all belts including the timing belt, water pump, dali clutch, 7lb flywheel, and a rebuilt tranny that has the short gears in it.

Now what makes me think the sound is unrelated to any of the work done, is because I've heard this sound before, but it went away. Now its back bugging the crap outta me! I'm almost scared to drive it... but i'm forced to b/c it's my daily driver.

What do you guys think? Thanks for your help in advance! -Electro

No one has any ideas? I'm sure some of you may have some thoughts....

Hey you know, I THINK I have the same thing.
Recently I got my car back from the dealer and there was a TERRIBLE grinding noise from the right rear under acceleration. They later found that the Camber was off and my wheel was scraping against something. Although no one could figure out what it was grinding on as there was plenty of room even with the camber out of whack. #2 my car has kind of a grindy wobbly sort of noise that comes from the right rear under deceleration..opposite of yours Electro. It always happens at high rpm downshifts and doesnt seem to be connected to the engine...
so..I am confused, and somewhat worried.
I wonder if this is related to your problem in any way...sounds sort of the same.

Edo, try this... Press the accelerator, and when you hear the sound, press the brakes while still holding down the gas. What happens? I did this in mine, and the first time i did it, the sound got louder... which makes me feel it may be a brake related issue.. then i tried to do it again a few more times and the sound stayed the same... its strange though how the sound doesnt always happen... i think it only happens when the car is warmed up... its sitting in my garage right now cooling down before i wash it for the weekend... so i will test out the theory of it being a heat related issue maybe on a stuck brake pad or something...

I know what this is.
..... about $450.

I am fixing this right now (Tomorrow actually)

Bad / Worn to crap CV joint. our rear drivers are set up just like front wheel drive transaxles. You get to hear clicking when you turn in a front drive, letting you know somethings starting. Our rear wheels don't turn so, when it finally gets bad enough to make a sound.. it's time to change out immediately. More sounds are to follow if you don't fix it now. Trust me I know.

The wobbling is that thing off alignment when you accelerate. My engine cover is off and I can see the ENGINE "Wobbling" (up and down)

260 for ONE joint. (Discounted price) Plus labor.

It's not the snap ring b/c I just put a rebuilt transmission with the short gears in it... and the transmission i had in my nsx previously was not within the snap ring range (i was certain to make sure of that b4 i bougt the car)

So if there is a problem w/ this transmission, i'm sure one of the guys i bought it from will help me out in diagnosing the problem and fixing whatever needs to be fixed... -(i bought it from one of the nsx techs there at the dealership)
