For all you "local" (San Diego & surrounds etc) NSXers, our pals over at Greenlight Acura-Honda Service have just moved into a shop that is about 8X bigger than their previous place over on Pacific Hwy. The new address is:

Suite C (back half of the building)
7960 Ronson Road (right across from UPS.)
the new phone # 858-569-1511

As Jerry & Co now have access to an IN HOUSE Dynomax dyno and a SOTA Hunter alignment rack they can offer even better service to all you picky NSX guys than ever before.

With NSXPO'05 coming up in ~3 weeks, it might be a good idea for those of you making the trek across the desert to stop in and get your cars inspected and dialed, take care of any last minute mods you have been putting off etc even if you have not signed up for the track event portion of the event - for those of you doing that it might be even a better idea - or required.

So, since time is short, Jerry is opening his place to you this coming Saturday September 17th for all to come by and check out the new shop, [excuse the constructions dust] have something to drink, and discuss having him schedule an appointment for whatever last minute service you might need. Some cars can be checked Saturday - but not everyone so if you want to bare your soul up on the rack - please call ahead: 858-569-1511

Based on past surprises I've observed, I might suggest that anyone attending NSXPO should check your car over as if you are headed for a track event. I have a basic track event tech sheet posted on our event page here.

While you are checking out the shop and each others rides you can sign up for a baseline dyno at a reduced rate! ($50.00 for 2 pulls, just 15 slots open in the time allowed)

This great for bragging rights or for comparing against future mods - please sign up ahead of time by calling him if you know you can make it.

Jerry might have some pre NSXPO service specials to offer but you will need to check with him.

I might drop by with a sample of our new BBK in a bbk size package. [fits under the OEM 16" wheels]

The roll up door opens at 8:00am and the party is over at 4:00pm - hope to see you there.

I'll be there!!! Just not sure what time yet!

Good show, Jerry!!!!

Hey Jerry,

Thanks for hosting us and putting this on! The new shop is AWESOME! I really hope it works out for you, but I think you're going to do just fine. It was nice to see everyone come out to support! And look...it's only taken my lazy butt a day to post pics! I have a lot more, but don't want to shrink all of them to post. I also have some videos from the dyno but they're huge files so not sure if they'll get posted.

It was great seeing/meeting everyone!

Art

PS. To the owner of the red NSX on the lift (from LA/OC?), if you were driving down on Friday 9/16/05. I was in the yellow NSX that passed you. I would have cruised with you but I was really hungry. I now know why you were cruising at low speed...you needed a new clutch. I just went through the same thing! It was great seeing another NSX on the road! Cheers!

 NOW ENOUGH OF THIS BABBLING, CHECK OUT THE NEW SHOP!!!

For those that weren't there, I did before and after dyno with the Downforce Cold Air Intake Scoop. UNI filter was in the car for both pulls.

Before: 271.7 rwhp
After: 276.3 rwhp
Gain: +4.5 rwhp

For those who don't already have this mod! Buy it now! I will start another thread with graphs once I get them scanned!

PS. Jerry, if you see this. Can you see if you can print out graphs with the Max Torque values from my two pulls? The files were NSXDAY.006 and NSXDAY.010.

And Now To The Car Show!!!

Who's blue on camel is that on the far right of the first few lineup photos?

That's gorgeous. It looks like the Monte Carlo blue that Honda has offered on the S2K in markets other than the US.

Is that factory or a re-spray?

You are correct the car is Monte Carlo Blue. It is not a re-spray.

Blue paint by year:
1997-1999: Monte Carlo Blue (right hand side in most pics)
2000-2001: Monte Carlo Blue Pearl (left hand side in most pics)
2002-present: Long Beach Blue Pearl

You can see in FAQ here.

I love that color too! And it looks like under 100 of them made it to the US. :frown:

The Monte Carlo belongs to "Powered By Honda" AKA PBH.

Hi SurferX
I was the one you passed last Friday. You're right, I was babying my clutch. But also at Greenlight for new NSX-R gears, headers and coilovers. Going to NSXPO. How about you? I'll be back in SD sometime this week to pickup my car. Wanna meet? I'd like to see your intake.
Bret

Nice seeing some old faces at the new shop. Looks like ill be bringing my NSX to greenlight now since it closer and alot less then the dealership. Great meet but where the hell were the girls???lol
