I'm flying into PHX tomorrow from BOS to pick up my G35 and then driving out Wed AM. I was looking at a map and noticed that the Grand Canyon doesn't appear to be too far off my route home. Since I have to head north from Phoenix to Flagstaff to catch route 40 east, I was thinking of just continuing up 89 past Sunset Crater then west along 64 which follows the canyon's south rim, snapping pics along the route and then just following it back the way I came.
On a map this looks like it should only take me about 2 hours out of my way, I'm wondering in reality how much time I should plan on? I'd hate to be so close to the Grand Canyon and not see it, but I have a LOOOONG ride back as it is.
