This forum is being updated with the GT4 Prize Car List....and looking over the list gives you an idea of the range of events and types of cars that will be found when playing through GT4. Definitely interesting to see confirmation of events like "Formula Gran Turismo World Championship", "Nurburgring 24 hours", "Le Sarthe 24 hours".

I really hope they have the F1 cars like they did in GT3, only not in disguised form!

You obviously didn't follow the link...they are definitely included in GT4, but in disguised form (albeit different forms from the ones that appeared in GT3).

Even though Polyphony Digital is wholly owned by Sony, I'm guessing Sony wouldn't let PD use the Formula 1 license. Something like this would obviously reduce the value of Sony Europe's Formula 1 series.

I did follow the link, but saw no listings for F1 cars other than the Formula Gran Turismo '04, which is kind of broad since it looks like it's supposed to be won after completing the Nurburgring 24hrs. I was hoping for some F1 car codes like in GT3 (ie, F688/S=1988 Honda turbo 6 cylinder MP4/4 Senna)

On another note, I'd be very interested in playing Sony's version of F1 since acquiring the license from EA Sports. I've heard the latest one is amazing.

Thanks so much for the link

This will greatly reduce the pain for me, I am going to try to win the NA2 NSX LM race car first, and then complete most of other harder races with it.

Are we really talking about playing realtime 24 hours of Nuerburgring and Le Mans (which is in a region called "Sarthe" in France)? That would mean to say goodbye to friends and family for a long time...

I'm guessing that they are indeed referring to "real-time" and yes, the Sarthe course is the LeMans course. Keep in mind that the designer has been claiming times accurate on the real-world circuits to within tenths of seconds of the real vehicles. So I imagine a 24 hour race really will take 24 hours. The link mentions a bunch or really long races in the Endurance Hall...much longer than the endurance races in GT3...and that's not even counting the 24 hour races (note that there are also TWO 24 hour races on the Le Sarthe course). I can only imagine that you'll need to approach these races with a really strong pit strategy. Perhaps these races are best handled in b-spec mode.

BTW, I found another gtplanet forum thread where someone has been having a LOT of fun with GT4's photo mode...talk about a great way for Sony to get free marketing!

Jeez, I'm getting excited about this game again. Which is a big deal b/c I was seriously pissed with a post-Christmas release (the only thing on my Christmas list). Now that I'm hearing the editions of 60's style F1 cars, I'm positively in "Jonesing" mode once again. Hope the Gurney Eagle is and Ferrari Shark Nose is in there too. And the vintage Honda convertible's are an awesome touch as well.

March is a long time away. :frown: Thanks for the link akira!

This award car "Rally Yosemite II Hard - Mitsubishi Pajero Evolution Rally car" struck me as kind of funny. IIRC, "Pajero" means masterbate in some South American country.

... and in Spain too, that's why the car is not called Pajero there (but it is in other european countries).

BTW: The Toyota MR2 couldn't be a success in France - because the pronounciation of "MR 2" in french sounds like "merde" which is the word for "shit".
