The Got The Nuts Maximo Run is one part CannonBall Run, one part Amazing Race, one part Scavenger Hunt, and ten parts Adventurous FUN!!!! Any street legal vehicle is eligable including motorcycles!
This is a weekend adventure in the Austin, Texas area. It all starts with a Maximo Run Party on Friday where all the "Crazies" (team members) will gather to size each other up and find out the starting location. Everyone is invited to meet the Crazies and party hardy on this night. This is also a great time to start the "trash talk". The winners will be chosen based on a point system aquired throughout the weekend, therefore, speeding and/or reckless driving on public roads is NOT required or nessesary!
We start with the "Amazing Race" portion of the event. There will be various challenges, detours, and loads of entertainment. An example would be to find a particular location where the teams will compete in a Dodge Ball competition against each other. The teams will have to beat their opponent in order to gain their next clue! Wish we could give you more info, but the secrecy is part of the fun! The adventure will continue until the deadline time. Saturday night will end with another party where all of the Crazies can share their stories. There, the teams will get the next day's starting point.
Now comes the "Scavenger Hunt" portion. Now, don't think that all you have to do is find stuff. This will require creativity. An example would be to take a picture with a law enforcment officer. The minimum amount of points gained for this or any activity in this portion of the event is 10 points and a maximum of 50 points. So, if your team takes a picture with an Austin Police Officer, it will probably be worth 10 points. If you take one with the Chief of Police, it will be worth more points. If you take one with an officer while they have someone pulled over, it's worth even more! Ok, one more example; one of the items may be to take a picture in a phone booth. A picture with one member in a booth is worth 10 points. A picture with a booth packed with people is worth more. A picture of you being hauled off by an officer for packing the phone booth with your team and girls in bikinis is worth a bunch more..... and it also qualifies for the officer piture!!! This is where your creativity (and humor) come into play! We will end on Sunday at the finale party to share stories, check out each teams pictures, and choose the winners!!
We have to limit the event to the first 100 teams (vehicles). The first 30 teams can join the GTN Maximo Run for only $250. After that, the rate goes to $300. Pretty cheap if you consider all the fun and things that you will get to experience.
