Finally, I am a proud owner of a NSX. It's a 92 model with barely 5000Km on it. They say, it's too old but I went ahead and bought the car. And guess what, I wasn't disappointed. This car is super brilliant!!! A supercar!!!

It has some minor problems though, power windows doesn't work, front spotlights are useless and the engine is not idling that smoothly.

Is there anything I could do to fix these problems? (Checked all the fuses and everything is fine) Also, is there anything I should check to keep this car up to date?

Thanks

Use the FAQ button (on the toolbar at the upper right of this page), and the "search" function of this website. There is a wealth of info here.

Congratulations!!

Congratulations!

I just purchased my NSX a few weeks ago. It is everything that people here say it is. I cannot stop driving it myself!

As Michigan said, check the FAQ for information concerning your issues. The window motors go out quite a bit.

congratulations!
i have a set of used window regulators if that is your problem. let me know if you need them. i was planning on posting them for sale soon.

The clips probably broke and you probably need to replace the regulators. Read more in the FAQ.

Spotlights? It doesn't come with spotlights.

That's not good. Have it checked by a good NSX mechanic.

Yes. Unless it has been done recently, you should have all scheduled maintenance performed, including changing all the fluids, adjusting valve clearances, replacing filters, replacing the timing belt and water pump, etc.

Also, read the transmission section of the FAQ to get familiar with the snap ring problem. If your car is in the snap ring range, decide whether you want to do anything now, or wait until you need transmission work (e.g. clutch replacement) and take care of it then.

Or maybe 105000Km on it.

I'm interested in those regulators!! When I checked inside the passenger door...it's not that it's broken...but THEY TOOK IT OUT! As in, no motor, cable, nothing. Do you have all that?

Thanks!
Steven

CONGRATULATIONS
...what color is it? red+black roof? (beautiful, beautiful, beautiful)

only 5K... either a collector bought it (in which case, why are the miles so low and there are probs) or it's the Sultan's.

I have no idea how big Brunei is, but maybe 5K is a lot if it's a small island... ???

Congrats on what appears to be the deal of a lifetime. What I've gathered is its a 92 with ~5KM for ~$25K US, with a possible "armored" edition window setup perhaps even owned by a Sultan. Store that car!!! '63 427 AC Cobra and '63 split window come to mind.... My God I cannot believe my eyes. Drain the fluids, store properly and hey maybe it'll even outperform your Roth, heck you already made 10 grand. hehe

Brunei is a very small country on a very large island, Borneo. From one end of Brunei to the other, it's maybe 50 miles or so (not counting the smaller eastern part - Temburong - which is separated from the bigger western part). The rest of Borneo, which is quite large, is split between Malaysia and Indonesia. More information at http://www.visitborneo.com/

Supercar,

Congratulations on your purchase. It seems you have found yourself a very special NSX.
As far as the spotlights are concernced, there are called foglights.
Although I do admit that a car like the NSX should be sold with a set of spotlights so that you can always put it 'in the picture' at night in your garage or in front of your house

As for the manual, I have made a CD with all kind of NSX-information on it, including the manual. I could make you a copy and mail it to you it you would have trouble downloading it. It's about 50Mb.

Another use of spotlights on cars is for a single light that can be aimed in a specific direction. These are sometimes found next to the driver side view mirror on the outside of taxicabs, so that the cab driver can shine the light on the house numbers to find the one with his fare. If you're using your NSX as a taxicab, it's something to consider.
