Looks pretty nice to me. You are making pretty close to 300HP at the crank. So, you have picked up about 30HP with h/e/chip. Sounds about right.

hmmm... Seems low to me, personally speaking (max. 255rwhp). I've seen 260ish w/ the H/E and no chip. Mine dyno'd at 240rwhp stock.

I'm doing H/E and possibly a chip (same one some U.K. NSX'ers use), so I'll hope to have reference values to offer as well. I'd be elated to have 265-270rwhp but that may be a bit endeavourous & ambitious.

Bone stock NSXs typically dyno 233-235 rwhp, so you've gained 20-22 rwhp, or 22-25 at the crank. Sounds about right for those mods.

I also love seeing how the car makes at least 90 percent of peak torque all the way from 2800 to 7550 RPM.

Any idea why they stopped the run at 7550 RPM?

I disagree! My car dyno'ed at comptech at 359RWHP and at a dyno close to me, it dyno'ed at 280RWHP! (comptechs dyno had small wheels for the tires and the one I went to had a huge wheel -about 4ft in diameter) We did a little tuning and added 20RWHP and 20FPT, so if I took it back to comptech, it would dyno at 379RWHP. Different dynos, different days, different humidity, etc. will always produce different results. Baseline before and after the mods would be the only thing I would go by.

Your results seem about right. Below are a few of the 3.0L NA runs from NSteXpo 2004. In case you have not yet seen it, Eric compiled a great dyno report for the NSteXpo 2002.

I thought he stopped at 7800, but the line was descending when he stopped so 255 would probably be the max. I'm not convinced that the Dali chip adds much peak hp. Does anyone have any comment on the air/fuel? Is the tailpipe measurement accurate?

Agreed, Mine also dyno'ed 245 RWHP and that was on a mustang dyno ...which would typically correlate to 250+RWHP on a dynojet dyno. That was on my bone stock 91...granted the operator stated it was the highest stock N/A 3.0 NSX #'s he had seen. This was done at Curry's in northern VA and it was very accurate IMO, backed by a [email protected] MPH trap speed at the strip (bone stock).
It would of been very interesting to of dynoed your car without the mods first as a baseline. But what you CAN still do is go back to the stock chip and re dyno with just the H/E to see just what that Dali chip is doing. :)

I'm probably going to go back there with the stock chip to see what the difference is. I've spent some time looking through the dyno day report and it looks like my max horsepower is consistent with others that have similar mods. No more, no less. However, the torque number seems higher across the scale.

Can anyone comment on the air/fuel numbers? Is the car running lean or is a reading from the tailpipe not accurate?

Well, keep in mind that horsepower is, basically, torque times revs. With our relatively flat torque curves, that's why you always see the horsepower peak at the upper end of the revband, regardless of what the torque is through the rest of the revband.

Most cars, including yours, have a torque curve that descends steadily (not sharply, but steadily) above 6500 RPM, while some others seem to maintain torque better above that point, which helps their peak horsepower rating.

I am no expert on A/F ratios, but the drop seems to correspond to the VTEC crossover point at 5800 RPM.

I'm not disappointed with the results, but wonder if they could be affected by the fact that the car hasn't been run since early November and has the same gas in the tank from early November. Does old gas affect the air/fuel ratio?

The air fuel ratio looks correct. Bad/old gas can affect the a/f ratio. But gas from November is not that old(we have tested much older with no effect), and does not seem to have affected your run.

I guess this other post confirms my hunch on the Dali chip. The numbers are higher through most of the curve, but peak HP is the same. Saved me a trip back to the dyno.
