Thanks for looking

overall not bad, for outdoor condition such as what you had, set the ISO Higher around 800 (high ISO = low light, Low ISO = high light), Set to Cloudy, and set the F-set to around F8 or even Lower depending on how dim that natural light was. You should come out with some awesome shots.

nice car...

Thanks for the tips and comments...

I used the Canon Rebel XTi with the 'kit lense'...

Here is another sample of what the camera can do with close-up shots..

I love this 'NEW' hobby I found, too bad it is just as expensive as buying upgrades for the NSX :(

spend the $$$ on good lenses... it makes a world of difference. the close up shots are always fun. i'd try to focus the point on the 'logo' itself and not the front of the stapler. you'll notice the front of stapler has a lot of detail in its texture, while the logo behind it is sorta blurred, and that probably is going to 'bother the eye' since it was a recognizable characteristic... your eye will keep trying to automatically 'make it out'...

off to a great start... i started by just messing around the house like that!

You could have gone to one of the program modes and used the flash for fill. That would have eliminated some of the harsh shadow area on the hood and brightened up the whole picture.

Good choice on the cam ...... Lots of Canon guys on here.

seriously... with the recent specs of the REBEL series, its getting harder and harder to justify the TOP $$$ for the 1D's, 30D's, etc....
